Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo has been building great futures since 1967 and has been making great futures a reality for all youth since 1967. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The Club serves roughly 1,200 Camarillo area youth, and its goal is to provide every child with the essential tools needed for a successful and bright future. As the needs of children and their families continue to change, the dynamics of the Club’s programs and services also continue to change.
The leadership team includes Roberto Martinez, CEO; Carlos Flores, Director, Director of Programs; Jennie Parkinson, Director of Development; and Katlyn Simber-Clickener, Director of Operations. One Club parent says the Club makes it possible to have peace of mind at work, knowing their children have a safe place that gives them educational and social skills to help them in the future. Camarillo Police Chief Eric Tennessen states that the Club provides a fun, safe and organized place for kids and that Boys & Girls Club members are far less likely to be involved in risky behavior or to become victims of crime. A Club member says they like going to a place where they feel safe and where they feel like they belong, and that they think they do better in school because of the Club.
