Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District Youth Aquatics & Swim Lessons offers swim lessons as part of a broader set of recreation programs that also include hikes, sewing, yoga, sports, and bingo. Families can use the District’s Activity Guide to register for swim lessons, hikes, classes, and more.
• Schedule: Administrative office business hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, and the Aquatic Center business hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am to 12:00pm.
Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District was formed in January 1962 and has grown from one park and 30 acres to 28 parks and over 300 acres. It is an independent special district formed under the State Public Resource Code of California, governed by a publicly elected Board of Directors and managed by the District’s General Manager. The District serves a population of over 70,000 and covers an area of approximately 45 square miles, and it offers 28 parks and over 300 acres, an Aquatic Center, a Senior Center, a Community Center, four dog parks, an equestrian arena and trail, sports fields, picnic shelters, a running track, park fitness equipment, a skate park, and tennis and pickleball courts. The mission of Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District is to provide and maintain a full range of quality facilities and programs focused on leisure, recreational and athletic activities for residents of the District, with facilities that support both organized activities and casual use and address the interests and needs of all age groups. The District’s non-profit Foundation supports the District by raising funds to improve parks and programming needs. The leadership team includes General Manager Mary Otten and Assistant General Manager Justin Kiraly, along with staff such as Recreation Services Manager Nicole Lousen and Recreation Supervisor (Aquatics & Sports) Ramiro Saldain, as well as Recreation Specialist (Aquatics & Adult Sports) Chase Maysick and other administrative, recreation, and park services staff. The District also offers weekly bingo for adults 18+ with stated “great buy-ins.”
