About

Campbell Parents’ Participation Preschool is a parent participation (co-op) preschool with a 60-year history that includes activities such as music, cooking, and science. Children also take part in field trips to the fire station and farm tours. The program follows a play-based preschool model with time for free creative play and time to explore both open-ended and planned activities to the extent of each child’s interest.

• Ages: 3–5 years old

Campbell Parents’ Participation Preschool has a mission of “Cultivating Curious Minds and Connected Families Empowering the Campbell Community through Developmental Play and Parent Partnership.” The preschool operates as a nonprofit organization and offers age-appropriate, well-supervised learning experiences within a social group of peers. Its philosophy is based primarily on the Developmental Theory of Early Childhood Education, and the curriculum focuses heavily on social-emotional development within a cooperative learning model where teachers, parents, and students work in harmony in a staff-led environment where the philosophy of cooperation is practiced daily.

The program includes a unique parent education component with expert speakers, active observation, collaborative discussion, and hands-on involvement for parents as a “learning lab,” along with opportunities for parents to join the Parent Board. The facility is meticulously designed for the early childhood stage, with equipment, materials, and supplies scaled to a child’s size and physical abilities. Campbell Parents’ Participation Preschool is a state licensed preschool (License #430701596) and is still accepting applications for the 2025–2026 school year, and families can book a free guest visit. An Open House is scheduled for a Saturday in May (date to be determined) with play, crafts, light snacks, and beverages.

One testimonial from Sylvia notes that her children enjoy the play-based curriculum, including music, cooking, science, and field trips to the fire station and farm tours. Another testimonial from Jessica describes her daughter forming relationships with other parents and her teacher and leading her own learning through play while looking forward to class every day.
