Athena Camps is an all-day summer camp for girls that combines sports, arts, and Safe Sitter certification. The program integrates sports and arts activities with an age-appropriate curriculum for Mini, Junior, and Middle School levels, and offers progressive skill development in both areas. All activities take place in an all-girl environment with an all-female coaching staff and a 1:6 ratio for the youngest campers.

Athena Camps was founded in 2011 by Aby Ryan, Founder & CEO, and has been running for over 14 years as an all-girls, mentorship-driven camp. The camp serves the San Francisco Bay Area and includes a Coach in Training program for girls entering grades 9–12, Mini Camp for grades K–2, Junior Camp for grades 3–5, and Middle School Camp for grades 6–8. Every coach is background-checked and extensively trained in youth development. Athena Camps is accredited by the American Camp Association as an ACA accredited program. Athena Camps’ stated vision is to build communities of girls and women who nurture and uplift each other in order to have a positive lasting impact on the world.
Parent feedback includes comments about the program being positive and empowering, with friendly and caring coaches and themes supported by a daily book and craft. Parents report that their daughters came home with stories about what they learned, that messages on friendship stood out, and that some campers have asked to return every year or for multiple weeks.
