According to the program’s mission statement, the professional staff is dedicated to providing students with a martial arts experience that teaches a way of thinking and being that develops respect for themselves and others. The mission states that instructors teach with the intention of achieving a mind and body workout as a way of life, and that students build self-confidence, respect for others, and self-defense skills in several martial arts styles, including jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, and traditional karate. The mission also states that the goal is to make good people, not just good martial artists.

The program offers upcoming dojo events and monthly newsletters, belt system and dojo guidelines information, a New Youth Student Study Guide, a New Pre-Karate Study Guide, and a Leadership Page. One review describes the instructors as “super fun, compassionate with kids, and incredibly skilled” and notes that “nothing compares to WVMA.” Another review states that Sensei Dan has “taken the commercial aspect back out of contemporary dojos” and built “a special community of really nice teachers and students who share a common passion for learning martial arts.” A third review highlights “self defense, confidence, respect for others, and a great way to get some much needed energy out.”
