The camp is co-directed by Greg Harcos, who has directed Nike Basketball Camps in the Sacramento area and has served as Head of the Athletic Department since 2015. His previous roles include Varsity Basketball Head Coach from 2002–2015, JV Basketball Head Coach from 1997–2001, Varsity Assistant from 1996–1997, Freshman Head Coach from 1995–1996, JV Football Coach from 1997–2000, and member of the varsity football staff in 2001. Harcos began his coaching career at St. Ignatius Grammar School in 1994–1995, graduated from the University of California–Berkeley in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and later earned a Masters in Education from Chapman University. His varsity basketball record is 247 wins and 122 losses, with Delta River League Championships in 2003, 2006, and 2007, and Sac-Joaquin Section titles in 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2012, plus section runner-up finishes in 2003, 2011, and 2012. In 2006, he received the Sacramento Bee Coach of the Year award, and his teams earned state and national rankings, including #22 in the state in 2005, #6 in the state and #39 nationally in 2007, #28 in the state in 2010, and #10 in the state and #60 nationally in 2011.
Greg Harcos’s stated coaching philosophy is that basketball is not only about learning the game but also about using circumstances that parallel the game to teach life lessons and prepare athletes for what lies ahead. He states that he strives to develop each individual to the best of his ability and that strength, toughness, hard work, and preparation should be identifiable in the character of a Jesuit team.
Parent and camper reviews from 2015–2025 describe campers enjoying drills, games, 1:1 playing experiences, the tournament at the end of the week, and the shooting competition. Reviews also mention interactions with high school coaches and counselors, individual challenges, and campers talking at home about their daily experiences.
