Nike Basketball Camp Jesuit High School is led by Co-Director Greg Harcos, who directs the Nike Basketball Camps in Sacramento, California and surrounding areas after 13 years as Head Basketball Coach at Jesuit High School. Over the past 20 years at Jesuit High School, he has served as Head of the Athletic Department from 2015 to the present, Varsity Basketball Head Coach from 2002 to 2015, JV Basketball Head Coach from 1997 to 2001, Varsity Assistant from 1996 to 1997, Freshman Head Coach from 1995 to 1996, JV Football Coach from 1997 to 2000, and a member of the varsity football staff in 2001. His coaching career started at St. Ignatius Grammar School in 1994–1995. Greg attended the University of California–Berkeley, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and later earned his Masters in Education degree from Chapman University. He has an overall basketball coaching record of 247 wins and 122 losses, with Delta River League Championships in 2003, 2006, and 2007 and Sac-Joaquin Section titles in 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2012, plus section runner-up finishes in 2003, 2011, and 2012. In 2006, he received the Sacramento Bee Coach of the Year award, and under his leadership the Marauders earned state and national rankings in multiple seasons, including #22 in the state in 2005, #6 in the state and #39 nationally in 2007, #28 in the state in 2010, and #10 in the state and #60 nationally in 2011.

Greg Harcos’ stated coaching philosophy is that basketball is not only about learning the game but also using circumstances that parallel the game to teach life lessons and prepare athletes for what lies ahead. He states that he strives to develop each individual to the best of his ability in an attempt to maximize his players’ ability, and he emphasizes that skill can only take a player so far and that strength, toughness, hard work, and preparation should be easily identified in the character of a Jesuit team.

Parent and camper reviews mention enhancing skills while having fun, street ball, individual challenges, and 1:1 playing experience, as well as enjoying the tournament at the end of the week, drills, games, and the shooting competition. Several reviews note interactions with high school coaches and counselors who were described as encouraging, engaged, and interactive with campers. Parents report that their children came home excited to talk about their experiences, learned new skills, met new friends, and showed enthusiasm for the game and positive teamwork. One parent specifically mentioned being happy with the Athletic Director from Jesuit, and another noted that both of their sons enjoyed the camp and now want to apply to Jesuit for high school.
