Golden Gate Area Council Summer Camps offer activities such as a COPE course set in natural redwood trees, ATV experiences, a horsemanship program, and merit badge classes. Campers can take part in waterfront fun and waterfront action, mountain programs, mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking. A provisional camping option is available for Scouts who cannot attend with their troop or who want an additional week of camp.

Camp Royaneh has been a BSA camp and sleepaway camp destination since 1925, and Camp Wolfeboro has been a scout camp destination since 1928. The leased Sea Scout Base at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco has been in use for over 60 years. Golden Gate Area Council operates five camping properties and a leased Sea Scout Base with a dock, pier, and workshop. Golden Gate Area Council-Scouting America states that it will help families start an adventure with a unit that fits their needs and engrosses their child or adolescent in nature, values, and camaraderie. GGAC supports all or parts of San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Solano, Napa, and Lake counties and beyond in Northern California. An Annual Health & Medical Form, GGAC AB-506 Compliance Form, Firearms User Permission Slip for youth, and other required forms must be completed, and the AB-506 Unit Compliance Form must be reviewed and signed by the appropriate registrar before arrival at camp.
