Burlo Gymnastics Rhythmic Gymnastics Programs includes rhythmic gymnastics activities such as stretching, jumping, body movement, apparatus handling, body conditioning, and a ballet class. The program’s stated goal is to provide the most comprehensive training available.
• Ages: 3–10 years old
• Schedule: Classes follow the L.A.U.S.D. school schedule, with class options Monday–Friday between 3:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday between 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.; beginners and little gymnasts usually practice 1–2 hours per week, and Competitive Team Program gymnasts practice at least 3 times per week for a total of 9 hours.
The gym space is 10,000 square feet with 36-foot ceilings, Swedish walls, and two Olympic size carpets. There is a parents room with a comfortable viewing area and a coffee maker, and the gym has a private and secure parking lot. Contact hours for the program office are Monday–Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
The leadership team includes Head Coach and Co-Owner Jenya Burlo and Manager and Co-Owner Elena. Jenya is a rhythmic judge and experienced trainer who earned the Master of Sports–International Class (Elite Gymnast) title and became a professional member of the Belarus National Olympic Team in 2003. Coach Nastya is a rhythmic gymnastics coach and two-time Olympic medalist, winning bronze in Beijing and silver in London, and she attended the Belarus National Olympic School and earned a Master of Sports with Honors International. Coach Dasha earned a Master of Sports degree at 15 years old, began coaching rhythmic gymnasts in Russia at 18, and has been a dedicated coach at Burlo Gymnastics since 2016. Coach Masha earned a Master of Sport International Class degree, was a member of the Belarus National Team for five years, and is a three-time silver medalist of the European Junior Championship and bronze medalist of the World University Games in 2017. Ballet Coach Ksenia received professional ballet, pointe, jazz, and modern dance training in Russia and has performed in productions for music theatre and ballet companies in Russia and the United States. Manager and Co-Owner Elena graduated from Hunter College with a degree in computer science and has experience in IT, business management, and accounting.
The program offers rhythmic gymnastics camp and classes in accordance with Los Angeles Covid-19 recommended guidelines, is described as great for beginners and competitive athletes, and runs training year-round with a variety of monthly packages. The facility includes two Olympic size carpets, a parents room with a comfortable viewing area and coffee maker, and a private and secure parking lot, and is described in a testimonial as big, bright, clean, and very well maintained.
