About
Chico Area Recreation & Park District Youth Programs include activities such as Kite Day, Inclusive Social Club, An Evening in Paris: Inclusive Prom, Rose Garden Party, and Summer Camps. Kite Day is an annual event with hundreds of colorful and creative kites, where participants can bring their own kite or decorate and fly one of CARD's free kites while supplies last. The Inclusive Social Club, formerly called Teen and Young Adult Hangout, is a welcoming, judgment-free hangout for kids, teens, and young adults of all abilities to connect, have fun, and build friendships.

Chico Area Recreation & Park District Youth Programs are part of the Chico Area Recreation and Park District, which was established in 1948 and is a California Special District. CARD oversees 17 community and neighborhood parks, 6 community centers, a swimming pool, the Chico Creek Nature Center, and more. CARD’s Play Guide showcases a wide variety of sports, classes, camps, and special events designed for all ages. The mission of the Chico Area Recreation and Park District is to provide recreation opportunities to the greater Chico community in a coordinated and cost effective manner. CARD is dedicated to enriching the community through diverse recreational opportunities and brings friends and families together to create joyful experiences and lasting memories. The Board of Directors includes Chris Norden, Jason Roye, Tom Lando, Dave Donnan, and Michael McGinnis.
