Elevé School of Dance

Elevé School of Dance offers Dancing Tots for ages 3 to 5, along with Ballet (Cubana & Vaganova), Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acro, Flamenco, and Hip Hop. Dancing Tots focuses on rhythm, balance, coordination, following directions, creative movement, musicality, and age-appropriate dance fundamentals.

Programs

• Dancing Tots — ages 3 to 5 years old · Fun and engaging introduction to dance for toddlers; focuses on rhythm, balance, coordination, following directions, creative movement, musicality, and age-appropriate dance fundamentals.
• Ballet (Cubana & Vaganova) — Ballet program that builds a strong classical foundation; includes Pre-Ballet and Ballet Primary, and later Cuban and Vaganova techniques.
• Ballet Pointe Technique — For advanced ballet dancers; refines technique and artistry en pointe, enhancing balance, strength, and control.
• Jazz — High-energy class blending classical jazz technique with modern styles.
• Pre-Pointe — Designed for dancers who have just received pointe shoes; focuses on foot strengthening, proper alignment, and technique.
• Lyrical — Combines ballet’s fluidity with jazz’s expressive movement.
• Tap — Teaches intricate footwork, musicality, and coordination.
• Contemporary — Fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern dance; emphasizes movement freedom, improvisation, and powerful dynamics.
• Acro — Blends dance with acrobatic elements, focusing on flexibility, strength, and tumbling skills.
• Flamenco — Fiery Spanish dance style with powerful footwork, expressive arm movements, and dramatic storytelling.
• Hip Hop — Fast-paced, energetic class rooted in street dance styles.

About the provider

The director, Claudia Valdes, began dance studies at age 5 and began teaching ballet, jazz, and tap at 17. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2003, was a professional ballerina for Ballet del Noroeste de Mexico, and has been teaching dance for more than two decades. She has been a member of the International Dance Council (CID-UNESCO) since 2009, and she represented the Minerva Tapia Dance Group in festivals and competitions including the XXVIII INBA-UAM Award, Festival de Danza Universitaria, Cuerpos en Transito Festival, Entijuanarte, Mix-Match Dance Festival, International Dance Congress, and Blue Grass State International Dance Festival.
