Montessori American School is a private, bilingual preschool and kindergarten that offers early childhood classes for children ages 2-6. The program includes Art, Spanish as a second language, Yoga, Art history, Summer Camp, Enrichments, Extended Day, Full Day, Half Day, Extended Care, and an after-school program on Tuesday nights. Children come to school five days a week, and the school accepts 2-year-olds who are not potty trained.

About the provider

Montessori American School has been nurturing families in Chula Vista since 1988. The school leader is Yolanda Alvarez. It is a member of the American Montessori Society, and all staff is bilingual. All teachers have Montessori credentials and are CPR-trained. The school states that 98% of students meet or exceed national benchmarks, 97% read at or above a first-grade level, and 98% meet or exceed grade-level expectations in mathematics.

Early childhood program ages 2-6. Children come to school five days a week. No two- or three-day programs. 2 year olds who are not potty trained are accepted. Freedom comes with self-discipline. Students are expected to be respectful towards others and the environment.
