Instruction includes a focus on pace of play, etiquette, values, course maintenance and sportsmanship, along with learning about core values like honesty, integrity and responsibility. Camps are always held at the Cypress Driving Range and are led by multiple professional instructors, and Mr. Peter’s Golf Camp is independently owned and operated.
Coach Peter Cantin is the Camp Director and owner, is also referred to as Coach Peter, and has been coaching kids in sports for 18 years, including seven years of baseball with the Jr. Giants and the Daly City PAL leagues, three years of basketball with Daly City Park and Rec, and two more years coaching baseball with the SSF Pony league for 13–15 year olds. Coach Peter has been recognized as a top instructor by Lessons.com in 2019 and 2020, has played over 1000 rounds of golf, uses the 3 Bays GSA swing analyzer, and has spent hundreds of hours watching swing video. He has also volunteered over 1500 hours in six years at Jerry’s elementary school, was head coach of the Daly City Pirates Baseball Team, and was a volunteer assistant coach for the Aptos Tigers Middle School Baseball Team.
Jerry, Peter’s son, is Head Coach of the kids golf team, assistant pro, and teaching lead at Golf Camp, and Jerry Cantin has been lead coach of the Elite Golf Team from 2010 to the present. This is the 14th year Peter Cantin has held some form of golf camp for kids, and since 2010, Mr Peters Golf Camps have been serving Bay Area kids, families and golfers of all ages and walks of life. The stated plan of the program is to teach each child the basics of golf and have a good time doing it, and the stated mission is to serve families’ needs.
