Cheergyms.com (formerly Pyramids Inc.) started in 1995, beginning with one team of senior-aged students in 1996, and in 2000 Pyramids Inc. became Cheergyms.com. The Cheergyms Cheer and Tumbling Class program is one of the most popular services they offer, and over 200 families use their services. They were formerly known as Pyramids Inc., one of the first specialized cheerleading gyms on the West Coast to give cheerleaders a place to compete year round, and Cheergyms.com is home to some of the most successful All Star teams in California. The facility includes a two-Tumble Trampoline into an above ground mat, numerous skills mats, multiple spring floors and a non-spring floor, parent viewing areas, and 25-foot ceilings.

The owners are Morton Bergue, Danny Kahn, Regina Kahn, and Derick Patterson, and Bergue, Kahn, and Patterson have 90 years of combined experience and are known as winners and experts in every aspect of the sport of cheerleading. The mission of Cheergyms.com is to help athletes become goal setters and goal getters, with a focus on first developing character and then athletic ability in a positive atmosphere, and the owners work to build character in their students, helping them become more confident, more successful versions of themselves. Parents are told they can trust Cheergyms.com to create an opportunity for their children in the world of All-Star cheerleading, and the program states that it is not just about cheerleading.

Cheergyms.com trains local cheerleaders, school teams, and youth football teams and runs several cheerleading camps. It hosts the Spirit Spectacular competitions, described as Northern California’s largest and most popular competition. Internationally, Cheergyms.com is asked to choreograph, speak at conferences, and hold clinics in countries including England, Wales, France, New Zealand, Scotland, Germany, and Canada.

Morton Bergue represents Cheergyms.com on The United States All Star Federation (USASF) Board of Executives and is the Chairman of the National All-Star Cheerleading Coaches Congress (NACCC), both of which he helped found. Derick Patterson has been on the National Advisory Board for the USASF from 2011 to the present. Bergue has been inducted into Hall of Fame groups in the cheerleading industry including SITA, GSSA, OCCA, and USASF, and he has been named to American Cheerleader Magazine’s list of the industry’s most influential people. Cheergyms.com has been featured numerous times in Cheer Biz News, and Bergue writes a cheer column for the USASF All-Star Magazine. Danny Kahn was one of the first coaches for the first all-star team formed in the world in 1985, the Clayton Valley All-Stars, and that team and his next team, the Diablo Valley Hawks, won three NCA National Titles. Derick Patterson participated in the 1996 Olympic Opening Ceremony in what is described as the largest cheerleading exhibition in the world.

One parent, Lisa Nevares, said that her daughter’s coaches were positive, motivating, and patient instructors, and that the experience was rewarding. She said her daughter worked with amazing coaches who honed her skills as an athlete, that the staff was professional and open to parents, and that Cheergyms.com gave her daughter confidence and showed her that hard work pays off.
