Cotati Aikido offers training in Aikido as a traditional Japanese martial art. The program includes body arts along with weapons skills, focusing primarily on sword and staff. Learning the sword and staff is used to work on proper physical alignment and posture. The study of Aikido at this program can start at any physical skill level and at any age.
Cotati Aikido is taught by instructors Pete Breeland, 6th Dan Shidoin, and Ginny Breeland, 6th Dan Shidoin, who are both 6th degree black belts. The program is now in its 20th year of teaching at Cotati Aikido. The stated mission is that sincere practice of Aikido takes the practitioner far beyond mere physical improvement and added confidence in life, and that the study of Aikido can start at any physical skill level and at any age.
