La Playa Cooperative Nursery School offers activities such as digging in the sandbox, planting in the garden, dancing and singing, building the tallest tower, and creating special pieces of art to take home. Children take part in art table activities, dramatic play, Play-doh table activities, playing in a large block area, riding bikes and tricycles, reading books from bookshelves and in a reading nook with lots of books, and working on puzzles at a puzzle table. The program also includes climbing, sliding, and playing hide-and-seek on a huge play structure, painting at easels, playing at a water table, daily circle time lessons, movement activities with a movement teacher, music time, science time, art time, field trips, and activities with special visitors.

La Playa Cooperative Nursery School has been partnered with the City of Culver City for nearly 80 years and has also partnered with the Screenland 5K. The program has received the “Winner Best Private School – Best of Culver City/West LA Awards” from Westside Today.
One parent shared that they found a wonderful, supportive community and watched their son grow into an empathetic, outgoing, and inquisitive child who loves to learn. Another parent stated that their children feel safe enough to be themselves and express themselves freely, and that their feelings are honored and they are seen as individuals who are met with respect and age-appropriate care.
