STAR Education’s mission is to offer extended educational, recreational, and enrichment programs to students, support and enhance school curriculum, improve student achievement, and expand the cultural base of young people through innovative, quality programs offered by highly qualified instructors. Programs are offered by highly qualified instructors, and staff is trained in strict protocols that have kept children, families, and staff safe while operating programs in three school districts in the Sacramento area and in five Los Angeles campuses. The social emotional well being of every child is a top priority and is woven into everything that STAR does, and STAR will continue to follow and exceed the protocols set by the CDC and the County of Los Angeles whether in-person, on campuses, or in family homes.

STAR Education has been a supplemental education provider since 1998 and began its work in the 1980s. In 1993, STAR Education was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and in 1997, the STAR Eco Station was founded as a subsidiary of STAR Education. STAR Education is a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit that has been selected the leader in innovative educational programming and community-based cultural enrichment projects for over 37 years. STAR Education provides educational services to more than 60 school districts throughout California and services more than 500 schools in over 60 school districts, reaching over a million students and their families every year. What began over 25 years ago with two innovative parents and one elementary school has grown into a large-scale effort.

STAR Education offers Supplemental Educational Services for schools and school districts, and school districts throughout California have contracted STAR to provide tutoring in math, literacy, and STEAM education for over 20 years, with verified increases in test scores from this tutoring. STAR is the largest provider of Gifted & Talented Education instruction in California and benefits over a million learners throughout California. Each day, STAR comes to school campuses in over 60 school districts throughout California, Tennessee, and New York. STAR works with students, families, schools, and communities and has partnerships with government agencies, private organizations, parents, and community groups. STAR Eco Station was founded in partnership with US Fish and Wildlife, and this organization is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture.
