About
Elite Taekwondo Center offers training in Taekwondo that includes Poomsae, Sport Poomsae, Traditional Poomsae, practical self-defense, and physical conditioning. The program includes a comprehensive curriculum for all skill levels, with no experience required and all ages and skill levels welcome. Comfortable athletic wear is fine for the first class, and the official uniform is included in the Introductory Special 2-Week Trial Program.

Elite Taekwondo Center offers a Pee Wee Program for ages 4–6, a Children Program for ages 7–12, a Teen Program for ages 13 and up, and an Adult Program. The program focuses on building strong character rooted in values of loyalty, discipline, and perseverance, and goes beyond physical training to help students grow into confident, respectful individuals both on and off the mat. The mission of Elite Taekwondo Center is to cultivate excellence through disciplined training in traditional Taekwondo and to foster personal growth, build self confidence, and instill respect and humility, equipping students to succeed in all areas of life.
The leadership team includes Founder and Head Master Grandmaster Kwangil Bae, Master Unju Lee, and Master Rachel Bae, a former member of the U.S. National Poomsae Team. Staff credentials include Grandmaster Kwangil Bae’s Kukkiwon and Odo Kwan Certified 9th Dan Taekwondo Grandmaster rank, World Taekwondo International Referee roles in both Kyorugi and Poomsae, Kukkiwon 1st Class Master Instructor and 1st Class International Evaluator certifications, and experience as an International Referee, Coach, and Mentor, as well as Master Unju Lee’s dance degree from Dankook University, 5th Dan Black Belt, and International Poomsae Referee status. Elite Taekwondo Center is affiliated with World Taekwondo, Kukkiwon, AAU Taekwondo, and USA Taekwondo, and is Kukkiwon and World Taekwondo certified.
Odo Kwan, the lineage connected to the program, was established in 1954, and Grandmaster Bae immigrated to the United States in 1995. Since 1995, he has promoted Korean Taekwondo through instruction, demonstrations, competitions, and cultural exchange in New York and California, and since 2000 he has been based in Silicon Valley operating his school and promoting Taekwondo in the region. For more than twelve consecutive years, Grandmaster Bae has organized and directed one of the largest Taekwondo tournaments in Northern California and the Bay Area, an annual event that supports the growth and future of Taekwondo by bringing together athletes, coaches, referees, masters, schools, and families.
Community involvement includes Team Elite performing at the Silicon Valley Lunar New Year Together festival, which celebrates cultural diversity and community leadership. The program has been featured on ESPN in 2000.
