About the provider
Nat Crawford is the president of Improve Your English. The program says that since 2002 it has helped Silicon Valley students become stronger readers, writers, and critical thinkers, and that it has provided English tutoring since 2004. It focuses on systematic, personalized English tutoring to build grammar, reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. The site also says Stanford professor John Bender approves of the curriculum, and that tutor applicants must have two years of professional teaching experience and are tested for grammar and literature; fewer than 5% of applicants pass the employment tests.
The program page says the consultation is parent-only and lasts 15 minutes. It says they specialize in grades 3–12. It also mentions an Apple Watch Guarantee: if a child attends every lesson for a month, does all homework, and the family still does not think it is the best English tutoring, they receive a full refund plus an Apple Watch.
