About
Vidyarambh Preschool and Daycare offers play and independent exploration as part of its daily activities. The program follows an Indian Immersion Preschool model with hands-on education, a strong academic foundation, fresh meals, and cultural immersion. It uses a holistic, 360 degree approach to launching a child’s educational journey and an innovative teaching approach dedicated to fostering a strong connection between children and their cultural roots.

Vidyarambh Preschool and Daycare offers a comprehensive range of educational child care programs tailored for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, pre-K, and TK children, with age-specific programs for Infant Care (12 to 20 months), Toddler Care (20 to 30 months), Early Preschool (about 2.5 years to 3+ years), Preschool (3 to 4 years), and Pre-K & TK (4 to 6 years). The indoor and outdoor areas are furnished according to NAEYC standards, with bright, airy classrooms, thoughtfully designed playgrounds, and stimulating activity centers. Vidyarambh was established in 2015, and in August 2019 it opened its first campus in Santa Clara. The program serves families in Santa Clara, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, San Jose, Milpitas, and other Bay Area locations.
The leadership team includes Founder and Executive Director Sujatha Namboodiri and Center Director Latha Kalimani, who is presently working as a Senior Director supervising both centers. Sujatha Namboodiri is an alumna (1998) of IIT Kanpur with a Masters in Civil Engineering, holds a Site Supervisor Permit and Program Director Permit in Early Childhood Education, is certified in WestEd’s Teaching Pyramid, and is trained in SEEDS of early literacy. Latha Kalimani has more than 20 years of experience with IT and Management, most of which is with WIPRO India; she has worked with special needs children in Cupertino and Sunnyvale school districts while taking child development classes from Foothill College, and she has worked as a preschool teacher at Ventana Preschool in Los Altos and Mulberry School in Los Gatos. Vidyarambh’s mission is to redefine early education with a blend of cultural immersion and academic excellence, foster a strong connection between children and their cultural roots, nurture students who excel academically and understand the intricate culture of India, and empower children to become happy, responsible, and inquisitive individuals who are ready to explore the world and contribute meaningfully and responsibly to their communities.
