Young Genius Speech & Debate Academy offers speech and debate classes, weekly in-person and online summer camps, and interactive speech and debate competitions. Students take part in speech and debate tournaments as part of the program. Classes are offered in 2-hour weekly sessions.
• Schedule: 2-hour weekly classes during the 2026–2027 school year, with online classes on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and in-person classes on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; 2026 in-person summer camps run weekly June 8–12, June 15–19, and June 22–26, and online camps run June 15–19, June 22–26, July 13–17, July 20–24, July 27–31, and August 3–7
Young Genius Speech & Debate Academy states the mission, “We teach thinking, not memorizing. Creating, not repeating. Discerning, not obeying. At YG Speech & Debate Academy, we nurture young minds to become articulate leaders through engaging, high-quality instruction and speech and debate tournaments.” The program is led by expert educators with over a decade of experience, and the academy reports having over a decade of experience overall. The program offers flexible learning options with both in-person classes and live online classes, and it offers classes, summer camps, and competitions in both formats. According to the academy, students can join from any part of the world online, in the classroom, and at tournaments, and its classes and tournaments are open to students from all over the world.
The academy reports a proven track record of boosting students’ confidence, writing, and critical thinking. One parent states, “After two years at YG Speech & Debate Academy, my daughter’s writing became clear and concise. She now articulates her thoughts confidently and persuasively.” The program highlights student achievements including Derek M. and Neil K. as Public Forum Octofinalists and Neil K. earning the 9th Speaker Award at the 2025 Berkeley Tournament; Joy G. placing 1st, Hannah D. placing 3rd, and Henna T., Avyan G., Carina P., Luna Y., and Laeoh K. as finalists in Congressional Debate at the 2024 James Logan Tournament; and Flynn F. going 4–0, undefeated in Lincoln-Douglas at the 2024 James Logan Tournament.
