10th Planet Daly City

10th Planet Daly City is a martial arts program where students can train in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Shaolin Kenpo, Capoeira, and MMA. The program is part of The MATS, which also offers personal training, self-defense for adults and youth, yoga, meditation, Reiki, labyrinth walks, spiritual celebrations, retreats, and sound healing.

Martial Artist Gino Francisco and Meditation Instructor Joseph Coffin started The MATS to teach and serve their community, and with the approval of Gino’s jiu jitsu instructor Eddie Bravo, they launched the 10th Planet Daly City Jiu Jitsu Program. The MATS began as a conversation between Gino and Joe in the summer of 2014 at Zion National Park in Utah, opened its first location on October 1, 2015 in a small garage in Pacifica, California, and in 2018 partnered with Shaolin Kenpo Daly City and moved into the historic Ralph Castro Kenpo Karate Studio. The mission of 10th Planet Daly City and The MATS includes helping students grow through unique teaching and top-ranked classes and working to strengthen individuals through martial arts and meditation while they work toward personal goals on the mat and in life, with an ongoing commitment to serving the Bay Area community. According to Tiara, “The most exciting aspect of this gym is the friendly and encouraging culture created by the coaches and students,” and Jackie describes it as “a gym that has extremely skilled coaches with years of personal experience” where “everyone involved is extremely welcoming and helpful, especially to first timers.” Dominic says that for those looking to train or learn jiu jitsu, muay thai, or MMA, 10th Planet Daly City has “some of the best facilities and instructors around.”
