Garden Montessori School is an enrichment-focused preschool and kindergarten preparatory program for children ages 3–6. Children prepare their own snacks in their own kitchen and wash their own dishes, and they interact with two rabbits, fish, and a box turtle. The play yard includes real grass, trees, gardens, swings, climbing structures, a big sandbox, and a tire swing, and the outside deck is used for painting, watering plants, and visiting a rabbit. The class is multi-age, and children have a choice of many work projects that are regularly updated to reinforce various concepts and themes.

Every detail of the classroom environment and curriculum is stated to be designed to foster the independence, natural curiosity, and learning style of each unique child. The program is described as intentionally structured to encourage respect and collaboration among children and to inspire personal responsibility and independence. Teachers guide children’s projects and choices while facilitating and cultivating each child’s learning style, and there is meticulous attention to how staff respectfully interact with children. The curriculum is described as very skill based while remaining exciting and relevant to children, and children are described as developing their own hypotheses, conclusions, and problem-solving skills.

Garden Montessori School has been in operation since 1978 working with children in the community. Jaye Perry founded the school and has been the director and owner for over 40 years. The program notes that “drive through” drop off and pick up allows parents contact with teachers every day.
