Quest Therapeutic Camps

Quest Therapeutic Camps offers a combined recreational and therapeutic program that uses play as the focus of intervention, with individualized goals, group therapy, and support. Campers are grouped by age, gender, and functional level, and summer campers take part in small groups of 12 to 18 with two or three counselors. Activities include swimming and supervised Quests such as sports, music, science, robotics, animation, drama, art, and journalism.

Programs

• Summer Program — Children and adolescents; both boys and girls aged 5-21 participate · 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily for six weeks, five days per week
• Afterschool Program — Children and adolescents · Once a week for two hours (4:00-6:00 p.m.); three 10-week sessions each school year
• Group Therapy — Quest campers · At least four times a week
• Senior Camper program — Adolescents; high school and older campers · During summer and Afterschool programs

About the provider

Robert Field, PhD is the founder. He opened his private practice specializing in work with children and adolescents in 1978. Quest started with 20 campers per week and has grown to over 100 campers per week. Quest says it is a CA Licensed Psychologist practice (PSY 5705), is vendorized by the Regional Center of the East Bay, and is an approved ESY program.

Reservations are open. Limited scholarships are available. RCEB clients must use a code to register. Partial scholarships are available thanks to Autistic Spectrum Disorder Foundation. Children with severe aggressiveness or serious psychological problems are not appropriate for the program. Quest does not accept children with a history of aggressive behavior. All new campers are professionally screened before they attend camp and individualized treatment plans are created based on screening and input from parents.
