The Next Step Dance Studio offers classes in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop, Pre Dance, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Performing Dance Teams. The studio also offers an Accelerated Program that includes intensive training across all of these disciplines, along with performance options at various events.

Owner and Director Lori Buffalow has been teaching and dancing professionally for the past 30 years. She has performed as a member of the American Dance Company and the United Spirit Association in concerts featuring Huey Lewis & The News, The Beach Boys, and Gloria Estefan, and she was a member of the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush. Lori earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College and has taught dance to children and teens in the Danville area for many years.
The Next Step Dance Studio states that its mission is to inspire a lifelong love of dance by providing instruction and performance opportunities for dancers of all ages, levels, and styles, with a full schedule of both recreational and challenging classes. The mission also states that the Accelerated Program includes intensive training across all disciplines with chances to perform locally and internationally, and that the studio focuses on preparing dancers for success both inside and outside the studio by instilling determination, confidence, and balance.
Since Lori Buffalow took over The Next Step, the performing dance teams have won top awards and earned several dance scholarships. The teams have performed at Disneyland, on cruise lines, and on three European Dance Tours, as well as at numerous local charitable events that raise money for causes in the surrounding community. Students at The Next Step Dance Studio have opportunities to perform at Disneyland, on cruise lines, and on European Dance Tours.
