The California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) is a UC-recognized STEM program for California high-school students in grades 8-12. It is a four-week summer residential, full residential and in-person program, and students live on campus for the duration of the program.

About the provider
COSMOS says its mission is preparing the next generation of STEM leaders. Students apply to one of the University of California COSMOS campuses, including UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Los Angeles, UC Merced, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Cruz. Admission decisions are based on academic merits of the applications, given the topic of interest. Financial assistance is available for application and program costs and is evaluated based on family income, family size, and available COSMOS resources.
