Davis Musical Theatre Company Young Performers' Theatre includes Young Performers' Theatre (YPT) performances, school matinees, and auditions for its shows. The program also offers a Beginner's Audition Workshop that includes mock auditions, cold reads, and hands-on audition exercises. For auditions, participants bring sheet music for a song they have already learned, and they may be asked to dance in comfortable shoes.

• Schedule: YPT performances on Saturdays at 2:00pm, with closing weekend shows on Friday at 7:00pm, Saturday at 2:00pm, and Sunday at 2:00pm; school matinees available; auditions generally Monday and Tuesday from 4:30pm–6:30pm with callbacks on Wednesday; Beginner's Audition Workshop on June 20, 2026, from 9am–1pm
• Price: Beginner's Audition Workshop AUDITIONING PARTICIPANT $40 and NON-AUDITIONING PARTICIPANT $30; tickets for Disney's Moana Jr (Young Performers' Theatre) $15 for all ages, plus a $2 per ticket facility fee
The Davis Musical Theatre Company's Young Performers' Theatre is an all-volunteer organization. Actors ages 7 through 17 may participate, and 18-year-old high school students are also encouraged to participate, with selection by audition and no experience required. For auditions, participants bring sheet music for a song they have already learned that is not from the show, do not sing to taped music or a cappella, and typically prepare 16 to 32 measures; for the Beginner's Audition Workshop, auditioning participants bring 16–32 bars of a musical theatre song in sheet music including piano accompaniment. The Beginner's Audition Workshop is led by instructors Jeremiah Krauss and Rachele Wurr. Jeremiah Krauss has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment and event industries, including three years touring nationwide with The Young American National Music Outreach Tour teaching performance workshops, work in casting offices at Paramount Studios and Sony Pictures for multiple television productions, and 12 years at the Orange County Performing Arts Center (now the Segerstrom Center for the Arts), where he participated in more than 16,000 performances and educational programs and facilitated master classes with Broadway professionals such as Patti LuPone, Stephen Sondheim, and Stephen Schwartz. Rachele Wurr is an alumna of the Orange County School of the Arts, where she completed an intensive musical theatre program with performance and audition training, and she has over 15 years of performance experience in Southern California, at UC Davis, and in the local theatre community.
