The studio is led by Studio Director Denise Hong. Ms. Hong has 13 years of experience at the Shenzhen Arts School with a background in dance education and performance, with a primary focus on Chinese Folk Dance and Traditional Chinese Dance, and has developed an extensive resume as a dance choreographer. From 2005 to 2015, she partnered with The Chinese Fold Dance Grade Center in Shenzhen as both a Senior Instructor and Chief Examiner. In August 2016, she came to the United States to teach at a dance academy in Houston, Texas, and after a year in Houston, she moved to California where she started HD Dance Inc.
The program states that its mission is to instill a great love of dance while inspiring self-confidence, discipline, and respect of the performing arts, and to provide a solid technical foundation for the developing dancer. It advocates the study of Classical Ballet as a foundation to instill an awareness of poise, alignment, and technique, and its stated goal is to give each individual dancer the tools they need to take dance as far as they dream to take it.
