About
CurtisCARE Child Development & Clinical Service Programs includes the Early Start Infant Development Program, Speech & Language Therapy, and Occupational Therapy. The Early Start Infant Development Program uses Individualized Family Service Plans and includes activities in physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive (self-help) domains. Speech & Language Therapy is offered in individual and group sessions by Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and includes AAC support for non-verbal children. Occupational Therapy includes sensory integration, fine and gross motor development, and daily living skills.
Programs
- Early Start Infant Development Program — Ages 0–3 · In-Home or Center-Based delivery · Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP). Activities supporting growth in Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Social-Emotional, and Adaptive (Self-Help) domains.
- Speech & Language Therapy — Individual and group sessions · Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists. AAC support for non-verbal children.
- Occupational Therapy — Sensory integration; fine and gross motor development; daily living skills.

About the provider
CurtisCARE Child Development & Clinical Service Programs was established in 2006 and is under the direction of Lucina Mena. Its leadership team has 35+ years of experience in child development, early intervention, and California’s community care system. The staff includes Infant Development Specialists, Speech & Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Bilingual Family Support Specialists, and Behavior Interventionists. The program is licensed by the State of California and vendored through South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC). It states a mission to increase access and improve the quality of early intervention and clinical services for children with special needs by delivering developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and family-centered care. It serves multicultural communities in Compton, Carson, Downey, and surrounding areas throughout southern California, with services provided in English and Spanish.
Parents are always welcome during program hours. Guests visits by appointment only.
