Columbia Memorial Space Center Programs include Family Nite, Parents Night Out, Astronomy Night, an Early Childhood Program, guided tours, and volunteer opportunities. Family Nite and Astronomy Night are recurring events, and families can also choose to become members or donate to support the programs. For Astronomy Night, participants may bring their own telescope or use the center’s telescopes.

The Early Childhood Program offers hands-on STEM activities for children ages 2–5. Family Nite invites families to explore the museum and attend expert talks on space. Parents Night Out is a three-hour event that includes games and exploration for children while parents are away. Astronomy Night focuses on conversations about the cosmos using personal or center telescopes.
The mission of Columbia Memorial Space Center Programs is “Igniting a Community of Critical & Creative Thinkers. Every exhibit, workshop, and event is designed to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and empower learners of all ages to imagine what’s possible.” The organization is led by a board that includes professionals such as Nader Moghaddam, Alexis Saab, Roger Brossmer, Rick Rodriguez, Mario Guerra, Alexa Rousso, and Diana Trujillo. City of Downey council members connected to the center’s leadership include Mayor Claudia M. Frometa, Hector Sosa, Mayor Pro Tem Horacio Ortiz, Dorothy Pemberton, and Mario Trujillo. Administrative personnel include President & Executive Director Benjamin Dickow, Center Supervisor Sarah Medina, Education Coordinators Rick Orán O'Connor and Laura Brim, multiple Program Specialists, a Social Media Coordinator, and an Office Assistant. Reservation Specialists and Museum Facilitators support daily operations and visitor experiences across the programs.
