Nupoor Dances offers Bollywood dance classes that include a workshop on the song “Chaand Baaliyan” and a summer camp. The program runs as a 14 week session during the Fall 2025 season.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Beginning August 2025 until November 2025, 14 week session
Nupoor Dances is led by Sonal Sanghvi, Artistic Director, Choreographer and Founder of Nupoor Dances. Sonal Sanghvi began teaching and choreographing in the US in 1997, completed her Bharatnatyam Arangetram at age 13 after starting at age 7, started her own dance school in Mumbai at age 18, and has co-choreographed dances with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sonal had a strong desire to bring the Bollywood culture to the Bay Area through her dance school, and the program’s activities focus on bringing the Bollywood culture to the Bay Area.
The Fall 2025 Session has registration open, with auditions held for Intermediate and Advanced level classes. The program also offers a Workshop Series on “Chaand Baaliyan” and the Nupoor Dances Summer Camp.
Former students and instructors describe long-term involvement with Nupoor Dances, including starting as young students and later returning as choreographers and instructors.
