School of Imagination

School of Imagination offers an inclusive preschool with small classes of 13-17 children and 3 educators per room, plus on-site speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral therapy. Its preschool classes include foundational early learning with language, curiosity, discovery, sensory exploration, motor play, social-emotional foundations, and predictable routines, as well as activities focused on independence, peer connection, vocabulary, fine motor skills, turn-taking, sharing, friendship, classroom routines, and kindergarten readiness.

Programs

• Youngest Class — 2-3 years · Foundational early learning focused on language, curiosity, discovery, sensory exploration, motor play, social-emotional foundations, and predictable routines.
• Middle Class — 3-4 years · Building independence, peer connection, readiness for structured learning, expanding vocabulary, fine motor skills, turn-taking, sharing, friendship, classroom routines, and kindergarten readiness.
• Kindergarten readiness — 4-5 years
• Speech Therapy — 18 months – 10 years · Communication, language development, articulation, fluency, feeding, and AAC; individual and group formats available.
• Occupational Therapy — 18 months – 10 years · Sensory processing, fine motor development, self-care, handwriting, attention, and regulation; play-based and family-informed.
• Behavioral Therapy (ABA) — 2-5 years · BCBA-supervised ABA delivered by trained RBTs, supporting communication, adaptive skills, reducing challenging behaviors, and building independence.
• Infant Development Program — 18 months – 3 years · Developmental milestone support, parent coaching, and Regional Center navigation for toddlers and their families.
• Social Skills — Friendship Club — 4-6 years · Small-group programs teaching peer interaction, social cues, conflict navigation, confidence-building, and family coaching.
• Diagnostic Services (ADOS) — 18 months – 8 years · ADOS-2 autism evaluations launching in 2026; children evaluated here have a direct pathway to Happy Talkers services.

About the provider

The program was founded in 2001 and serves families through integrated early childhood clinical care, inclusive education, and community support. Charlene Sigman is the Founder and is also described as Co-Founder and Executive Director. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Educator with over 25 years of early childhood experience, and the preschool uses an ESDM-based and ESDM-aligned curriculum. The annual Stephen Vogt Celebrity Benefit Weekend supports the children and families of School of Imagination and Happy Talkers.

Inclusive preschool for children with and without disabilities. Accepts most major commercial insurance and is vendorized through the Regional Center of the East Bay for some services. Scholarship support is available. Accepting new clinical referrals and preschool enrollments. No diagnosis needed to start. Response within one business day.
