Lauren's House for Positive Change Inc. was founded in 2009 by an East Palo Alto native and has been empowering student success in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park, CA since 2009. Since 2009, Lauren's House has expanded to serve 15 to 20 children during the school year and 20 to 30 during the summer. The organization serves students from 1st to 12th grade who are low-income or qualify for free-and-reduced lunch, and most of their youth are Hispanic and come from single-parent households. The team is entirely volunteer-based, with volunteers supporting academic tutoring, peer mentoring, program assistance, grant writing, social media management, website development, and fundraising. The executive director, Monique Graves, works as a school-based mental health therapist for Los Altos School District, and the socioemotional learning and counseling that students receive come from a certified mental health professional.

Lauren's House serves East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park of San Mateo County, CA, and works most closely with the Ravenswood City School District in East Palo Alto. The program engages youth in guided community service, feeding the homeless, and work with Prison Fellowship Angel Tree, and focuses on students' reading development, socioemotional learning, community service, and cultural enrichment through free after-school and summer programs. Programming operated throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Lauren's House was awarded the Top-Rated Badge in 2023 by GreatNonprofits and the Platinum Seal of Transparency in 2023 by Candid GuideStar.

The mission of Lauren's House is to increase students' English Language Arts grades to meet California state standards, strengthen their communication skills and emotional intelligence, and widen their worldview through cultural enrichment activities. Testimonials from volunteers, parents, youth participants, and community members describe long-term involvement with the program, academic support such as help with homework and reading and math skills, bike riding experiences, summer activities that combine education and field trips, and support that extends to parents and volunteers. Several testimonials specifically mention Executive Director Monique Graves by name and describe her ongoing presence and support for children and families.
