Miracle Math Coaching STEM Summer Camp is part of Miracle Math, a math-focused, one-on-one tutoring center that uses a tailored curriculum with no cookie-cutter approach and an initial assessment with a goal-based, metric-guided learning plan. Miracle Math uses the latest in neuroscience and cognitive science to understand how each student learns and focuses on improving a student’s “learning engine” and core skills while building confidence and metacognition. The program uses a strategic student-coach relationship based on a trade secret approach and offers in-person, remote, and hybrid learning options in a brain-based learning environment that aims to change the brain to enable more effective learning.
Miracle Math Learning Studios teach soft skills such as Brain-Based Study Skills and Brain-Based Test-Taking Strategies. Miracle Math Coaching’s core purpose is to deliver brain-centered learning experiences to cultivate success in students, educators, and support staff. The Fairfield Suisun Unified School District, the largest district in Solano County, ranked Miracle Math number one in its roster of multiple highly qualified organizations.
Miracle Math was founded in 2009 by Deanna Hurn, who is the Founder and Executive Director and the Founder and CEO of Miracle Math Coaching Brain-Based Learning Center. Deanna Hurn is a credentialed teacher and holds an Associate’s of Science degree in Mathematics from Sacramento City College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Statistics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and she previously served as an actuary and financial analyst in the insurance industry. Deanna’s leadership and strategies led to her being named among the Top 100 Visionaries in Education by the Global Forum for Education & Learning, and Miracle Math has been featured in Parents Magazine, Daily Republic, Visions in Education, Nerd Wallet, News10, and the Fairfield Awards. Miracle Math hires only professional educators who are subject matter experts with an aptitude for inspiring students.
Parents describe Miracle Math as coaching rather than tutoring and say that coaches assist students in the learning process and take pride when students become completely independent. One parent reports that the staff supported a daughter who was having great difficulty in math and saw changes in her confidence and ability. Another parent notes that the program focuses not just on math but also on being successful in other school subjects and offers forums that teach life, leadership, scheduling of time, and ways to learn. A parent shares that Miracle Math does not just teach to the test but works to figure out the real issue and communicate every step of the way, and that after attending Miracle Math, their daughter was moved to a more advanced class and has made honor roll every quarter. Other parents report that their children had been struggling or apathetic about math before starting with Miracle Math, and that the staff were caring and provided 1:1 coaching and weekly attendance that supported improvement in math and reading, with children growing confident enough to raise their hands in class and enjoying their coaches.
