About
Action Park Alliance Camps and Lessons offers skateboarding lessons, clinics, after-school programs, skate camps, and skateboarding events, including contests. The program also offers professional one-on-one coaching for all skill levels, with certified instructors who focus on safety, progression, and fun. Campers and participants can take part in wheelchair motocross (WCMX) and adaptive skateboarding, as well as community events connected to these action sports.
• Schedule: 32 weeks of skate camp each year; year-round camps from summer to winter sessions
Supervisory personnel are trained in park policies and procedures as well as First Aid, CPR, and health and safety standards. Campers learn from experienced instructors in a safe, encouraging environment, and parents will feel comfortable dropping their children off at an Action Park Alliance facility staffed by experienced recreation professionals. The program’s mission states that, through structured programs and mentorship, it helps young people build confidence, discipline, and lifelong skills, with youth initiatives that focus on inclusion, safety, and positive community engagement. Since 2014, Action Park Alliance has led the movement for adaptive and inclusive skatepark programming, and it founded the World WCMX Championship. Action Park Alliance operates four public skateparks across the country with annual attendance of over 1 million, hosts over 50 contests each year, and teaches 1,500 hours of lessons each year. Action Park Alliance is described as the first and only full service skatepark management company in the USA that partners with municipalities to create unique public-private partnerships, helping cities and communities turn their skateparks into thriving youth development centers, and offering a supervised, programmed park without all the ongoing costs to the city of staffing and sports structure maintenance.
