Out of Bounds Volleyball Club is a volleyball club for girls ages nine to eighteen. The club states that it is committed to developing every athlete to the peak of her ability and that each program is designed to provide opportunities for female athletes to develop basic fundamentals and advanced volleyball techniques. Athletes participate in instruction, practices, scrimmages, and active participation in tournaments at a competitive level, including USAV sanctioned and AAU tournaments throughout the United States. As players progress in age and skill level in the club, the program offers an increasingly competitive learning environment and aims for teams at each age group to be capable of competing at USAV Junior Nationals, with the exception of local non-travel teams.
Out of Bounds Volleyball Club was founded by D’Sunte Wilson, a former Division Academic All-American player at the United States Naval Academy and former Division I college player, who has coached at every age level for over ten years. D’Sunte Wilson serves as the Club Director. The club’s mission includes teaching volleyball skills as well as sportsmanship, discipline, the drive to excel, goal achievement, self-confidence, teamwork, and a mindset of continuous learning and improvement through the sport of volleyball. The mission also includes preparing players to lead and excel on their high school teams and capturing and cultivating the interest and talent of middle school-aged and high school-aged athletes.
The program states that it offers quality coaching that focuses on both developing fundamentals and high level (Olympic) techniques, and that its approach is driven by hard work, dedication, and success. It emphasizes beliefs that volleyball is a team sport based on individuals striving to obtain one common goal, that volleyball is 30% physical and 70% mental, and that a positive attitude and a strong work ethic is a necessity in life. The club uses the phrase “Beyond the Court: Building Champions in Game and Life” to describe its focus.
Out of Bounds Volleyball Club lists several competitive achievements, including being named 2016 Best First Year Club Volleyball Team in Southern California and winning the 2016 Silver 18s division for the Summer SCVA tourney. Additional results include the 2017 17 Premier team winning the Copper Division at JVA West Coast Cup; 2017 18 Navy Blue, 2017 16 Navy Blue, 2018 18 Navy Blue, 2019 17 Navy Blue, and 2021 15 Elite, 16 Elite, and 17 Elite teams earning National Qualification.
