Music for Minors II offers classroom music enrichment that includes singing/signing songs, rhythmic movement and dance, instrumentation, and listening appreciation. Children and classroom teachers welcome Music for Minors II docents into the classroom for fun-filled, engaging music lessons. Teachers remain in the classroom while docents teach and learn how to integrate music into their curriculum areas.

Music for Minors II has been providing music enrichment programs in pre-school through elementary schools in the East San Francisco Bay area of California since 1988. Its mission is to nurture the love and literacy of music in children's classrooms and lives by trained community volunteers. Music for Minors II is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, and its board consists of nine members supported by a part-time staff of five individuals. The MFMII Advisory Council is a 12-member group of community leaders who support the mission and organization, and the program is described as a primary service organization that keeps music alive in children’s classrooms. One 2nd grade teacher at Ardenwood School in Fremont stated, “I have seen improvement in my students’ following directions and listening skills.”
Music for Minors II provides performance opportunities for children at school sites and on professional stages in the community, as well as at family music events at local schools and community events. The organization partners with groups such as the Fremont Cultural Arts Council, Music for Minors in San Carlos, Castro Valley School of Music, Wadaiko Taiko, Fremont Symphony, Fremont Education Foundation, and members of the Alameda County Arts Commission. It also offers free in-person training for volunteer music docents.
