Garnet and Maple After School & Teen Programs include homework help, tutoring, social and emotional learning skills, and fun activities and games. The programs also offer outdoor adventure experiences through activities such as fishing, rock climbing, water sports, hiking, and camping. Maple ESL Tutors work with neighbors individually or in small groups on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.

The Garnet Elementary After School Program is a semester-long program for elementary-age students from the Garnet neighborhood, with two separate groups of students in 1.5-hour sessions from 2:30–4:00 p.m. and 4:00–5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The Maple Elementary After School Program is a semester-long program for elementary-age students from the Maple neighborhood that meets Monday through Thursday from 2:30–4:00 p.m. The Garnet Teen Center and Maple Teen Center are semester-long teen mentor programs for teenage students from the Garnet and Maple neighborhoods that meet Monday through Thursday from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
The TILT outdoor adventure summer program is a gang prevention program for youth in 7th–9th grade that uses trauma-informed curriculum with outdoor adventure activities like fishing, rock climbing, water sports, hiking, and camping, and runs as a six-week intensive program from June 22 to July 27 on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Maple ESL Tutors meet Monday, Thursday, or Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with a commitment of one hour a week for a semester.
Solidarity, which runs these programs, states its mission as equipping Latino, immigrant families in under-resourced neighborhoods for community transformation. Over the course of 20 years, Solidarity has grown from a small group of eight college students who first gathered in 2001 into an official nonprofit that equips and amplifies immigrant and Latino families in the Garnet and Maple communities of Fullerton. The organization’s model of building relationships is intentionally designed to imitate what it recognized Jesus doing throughout his life, and it shifted from doing service projects to focusing on building meaningful relationships with the people it engaged with. Kevin Mo-Wong is the present-day Executive Director of Solidarity, and Tommy Nixon is the founding Executive Director.
Garnet and Maple families have shown Solidarity staff and partners hospitality by opening their homes for meals, sharing stories, and inviting them to BBQs, quinceañeras, and weddings, and the neighborhood has taken care of, vouched for, and invested in Solidarity staff to the point where mutuality existed. Solidarity’s TILT outdoor adventure summer program is described as a gang prevention program that provides outdoor adventure experiences around Southern California for youth in 7th–9th grade.
