Camp Bob Waldorf: Jewish Cultural Session includes team building exercises, a climbing wall, a high ropes course, arts and crafts, drama, singing, dance, video, horseback riding, hiking, animal care, nature activities, and farm-to-table cooking. Campers also take part in basketball, soccer, football, Ga-Ga, archery, swimming, Israeli dance, drumming, water polo, yoga, painting, film/media, and cooking. The program includes spirited Shabbat celebration and daily cabin rotations that promote cabin cohesion, along with elective rotations for deeper exploration of specific activities.

Camp Bob Waldorf: Jewish Cultural Session is part of Camp Bob Waldorf, a nonprofit, pluralistic, non-denominational overnight Jewish camp and non-sectarian camp for children in underserved communities, owned and operated by Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, a 100-year-old nonprofit organization. The camp’s program is built upon four core pillars: Community (Kehillah), Inclusion (Keshet), Identity (Atzmi), and Respect (Kavod), and includes a Golden Broom Award for campers who take the best care of their cabin at the end of each session. Campers live in a cabin with their peers along with two to three trained counselors, and campers may have the opportunity to join a second summer session on a case-by-case basis based on availability.
Camp Bob Waldorf is accredited by the American Camping Association, which verifies compliance with over 300 nationally recognized standards for operation. The camp is deeply committed to youth safeguarding and to creating a culture of dignity, accountability, and care, supported by ongoing training and best practices that prioritize the safety and well-being of every young person in the community. The mission of Camp Bob Waldorf is to enrich the lives of youth throughout Greater Los Angeles with the tools and support system they need to thrive from elementary school to college and beyond, driven by the values of community, inclusion, identity, and respect.
Camp Bob Waldorf is owned and operated by Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA), which assists youth in achieving their full potential through programs including Youth Mentorship, Camp Bob Waldorf, and College Access + Success. Camp scholarships are awarded, in part, by the generosity of Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Foundation for Jewish Camp, and Samueli Foundation, and the federation has provided resources to ensure camp is accessible and affordable to diverse families across the LA region.
