Sharon Art Studio

Sharon Art Studio offers a variety of activities including ceramics, jewelry, glass, and fine arts. It is located in the Sharon Building in Golden Gate Park near the Children’s Playground. The studio is known as San Francisco’s largest public art studio and features approximately 45 teachers specializing in ceramics, jewelry, stained glass, fine arts, mixed media, and summer youth art intensives.

Established by the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department in 1968, Sharon Art Studio operates in partnership with the non-profit Friends of Sharon Art Studio (FOSAS) to offer over 300 classes each year. The leadership team includes Zach Canter, Nicki Guard, Cassandra Sechler, Robin Silver, and Marla Blanchard. The program's mission is to provide an affordable, high-quality, non-competitive learning environment where everyone can find joy in self-expression through various art forms.
