About
Youth Science Center is a non-profit organization that offers hands-on science and technology programs and exhibits that promote learning through interaction. The program originally provided local youth with a museum and natural science center and continues to focus on making science, technology, engineering, and math exciting and accessible for young learners.
Youth Science Center is celebrating its 60th year of service to students. In 1984, Youth Science Center moved from a hands-on center in Fullerton to Wedgeworth Elementary, and it moved to Bixby Elementary in 2014. The organization’s mission is to inform, instruct, and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the excitement of science and technology through exhibits and programs that promote learning through interaction. Youth Science Center has been selected as one of only 57 organizations across the country to receive a 2025 STEM Action Grant from the Society for Science. The leadership team includes Diana Padilla, Project Manager, and Elaine Chiu, Summer Registrar. Youth Science Center reaches a large service area in the San Gabriel Valley, including Eastern Los Angeles County and Northern Orange County.
