About
Youth Science Center is a non-profit organization that offers hands-on science and technology programs that promote learning through interaction. The program focuses on making science, technology, engineering, and math exciting and accessible for young learners in the community. It originally provided local youth with a museum and natural science center and now uses ample space for programs and exhibits.
The mission of the Youth Science Center is to inform, instruct and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the excitement of science and technology through exhibits and programs that promote learning through interaction. YSC reaches a large service area in the San Gabriel Valley, including Eastern Los Angeles County and Northern Orange County. YSC is celebrating its 60th year of service to students, having moved from a hands-on center in Fullerton to Wedgeworth Elementary in 1984 and then to nearby Bixby Elementary in 2014. The leadership team includes Diana Padilla, Project Manager, and Elaine Chiu, Summer Registrar. Youth Science Center was selected as one of only 57 organizations across the country to receive a 2025 STEM Action Grant from the Society for Science.
