Custom Academics Tutoring offers tutoring, test prep, college advising, grad school advising, and med school advising, along with courses, internships, portfolios, and research and capstone projects. The program connects students with internships and research opportunities, including projects that have led to published work while students were still in high school. Custom Academics Tutoring is led by founder Tatum Hutton, a twice-exceptional learner who is fluent in American Sign Language, a published curriculum designer, and a former international show jumping champion.
Across 15 years, students working with Tatum Hutton have earned over $10 million in scholarships. Tatum has spent more than two decades guiding students into Ivy League and top-20 universities, medical and dental schools, and competitive MBA programs. Tatum founded Custom Academics to give students access to tutoring, test prep, advising, internships, and research opportunities, including projects where students have been published while still in high school. Tatum is a Harvard graduate and perfect SAT math scorer (800 Math, 780 Verbal) with an A.B. from Harvard University. Tatum’s credentials include an A.B. in Psychology with a focus in Neuroscience from Harvard, Meyers-Briggs certification, College and Career Advising certification from UC Berkeley, a Certificate for Coaching Adolescents with Learning and Attention Issues from Beacon College, Irlen Syndrome Screener training, national certification to teach math, science, and English for both middle and high school, and a Neuroscience Initiatives Certification from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.
