Summer Learning Camp

Summer Learning Camp includes hands-on discovery activities, book clubs, author talks, puppets, bubbles, dance, and craft classes. The program also connects with the Summer Reading Challenge and offers free meals and activities through Lunch at the Library. Summer Learning Camp sessions are offered as 3-day afternoon camps that include free lunch, educational fun, and crafts.

• Ages: 7–13 years old
• Schedule: 3-day afternoon camps, with related Lunch at the Library activities offered June 16–July 18, 2025, Monday–Friday, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
• Price: Make the most of summer with free learning activities for all ages; Lunch at the Library offers free lunch, books, and more, and Summer Learning Camp includes free lunch, educational fun, and crafts at no cost to families.

The City of Hayward is offering Summer Learning Camp and related activities as part of a variety of enriching and fun opportunities to keep young minds active throughout the summer of 2025. Families can also sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge for kids, teens, and adults at hayward.beanstack.com beginning June 1, 2025, and participants can earn prizes from June 8–August 2, 2025. Summer Learning Camp is for students entering 2nd–8th grade and uses a lottery registration system, with acceptance not guaranteed; lottery registration begins on Friday, May 16, and lottery applicants will be emailed if selected by Friday, May 30.
