Lionheart Academy is an obstacle course and fitness program for kids that focuses on obstacle course racing and fitness training. Young athletes run, jump, crawl, carry, climb, and throw as part of the program, including Saturday competitions where they challenge themselves and others to see how fast they can complete the obstacle course.
• Ages: 6–15 years old
• Schedule: Homeschool and afternoon sessions offered in 8-monthly or 4-monthly formats, with options 2x/week or 1x/week during the fall trimester (March, April, May), Friday training sessions, monthly Saturday race days from 10am–1pm, and week-long summer day camps Monday–Friday, 9am–12 noon from June 8–August 7 (no camp June 29–July 3)
• Price: Homeschool and afternoon sessions generally $80–$150 per monthly block, trimester options at $210–$405, race days $20–$30, drop-in sessions $25, and summer day camps $300 early bird or $325 regular
Lionheart Academy offers homeschool sessions on Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday in 8-monthly blocks, Friday homeschool training for ages 6–12 and 12–15, and a one-day-a-week homeschool option in 4-monthly blocks. Afternoon sessions include Monday/Wednesday for ages 9–12, Tuesday/Thursday for ages 6–8, and Friday training for ages 12–15, with a trimester program that offers savings with a three-month commitment. Monthly “All Comers” Race Days include age groups 6–8 and 9–11, with podium finishers earning medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and there are also birthday parties and team building events available.
Summer Day Camps run in eight separate week-long sessions (Summer 1–8) from June 8–12, June 15–19, June 22–26, July 6–10, July 13–17, July 20–24, July 27–31, and August 3–7, with specific weeks for ages 6–8 and 9–12, and each camp is described as an awesome week of fun, fitness, obstacles, and good energy. Day camps include an Athlete Profile Evaluation, a certificate earned, and a healthy snack, and all sessions are held outside, rain or shine.
Lionheart Academy states that it is preparing young athletes for the 2026 NorCal Spartan Races and offers an obstacle course and fitness program where kids are encouraged to learn how to be the best versions of themselves. The program emphasizes helping serve the local community, participating and enjoying being part of a team and community, and encouraging others to do their best while improving and making positive change in the community and beyond.
Coach Adam Savin leads the program and has more than 30 years of experience in teaching, coaching, fitness, mentoring, and competing. His background includes NCAA Division I soccer at Marquette University, playing in Spain’s RFEF 3rd Division for FC Pelayo in Madrid, and founding, presiding over, coaching, and playing for Black Oaks Soccer Club. He has served as Director of Coaching for Laguna Youth Soccer Club, coached for Healdsburg Youth Soccer, and coached soccer at Santa Rosa Junior College and Mendocino College, as well as teaching and coaching at Cardinal Newman High School, Ursuline High School, and Saint John the Baptist Catholic School.
Adam Savin holds a USSF E License, an NSCAA Regional Diploma, and is an ACE Fitness Certified Personal Trainer, an Ironman triathlete, and fluent in Spanish. He also holds Optimize Life Coach and Mental Performance Mastery certifications and is in the process of completing Spartan SGX Training Certification.
