About

Lionheart Academy is an obstacle course and fitness program for kids that focuses on obstacle course racing and fitness training. Participants run, jump, crawl, carry, climb, and throw in structured sessions, and can also take part in Saturday competitions, birthday parties, and team building events.

• Ages: 6–15 years old
• Schedule: Homeschool and afternoon options with 8-session or 4-session monthly blocks, a three-month Trimester Program in March, April, and May, Monthly Race Days on Saturdays from 10am–1pm, and Summer Day Camps running Monday–Friday, 9am–12 noon in June, July, and August.
• Price: Homeschool and afternoon sessions generally range from $80–$150 per monthly block, trimester options are $210–$405, Race Day entries are $20–$30, Summer Day Camps are typically $300 per week with an Early Bird price of $300 and a regular price of $325, and drop-in sessions are listed at $25.

Lionheart Academy states that it encourages young athletes to run, jump, crawl, carry, climb, throw, and have a great time learning how to be the best versions of themselves. The program notes that it is preparing for 2026 NorCal Spartan Races and that Monthly Race Days include All-Comers Race Day with age groups 6–8 and 9–11, with podium finishers earning medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Summer Day Camps include an Athlete Profile Evaluation, a certificate earned, and a healthy snack provided, and all sessions are held outside in all weather. The program also offers birthday parties and team building events and states that it focuses on helping serve the local community, participating in and enjoying being part of a team and community, and encouraging others to do their best while improving and making positive change in the community and beyond.

Lionheart Academy is led by coach Adam Savin, who has more than 30 years of experience in teaching, coaching, fitness, mentoring, and competing. His background includes NCAA Division I soccer at Marquette University, playing in Spain’s RFEF 3rd Division for FC Pelayo in Madrid, and founding, serving as president, coaching, and playing for Black Oaks Soccer Club. He has served as Director of Coaching for Laguna Youth Soccer Club, coached for Healdsburg Youth Soccer, and coached and taught at Santa Rosa Junior College, Mendocino College, Cardinal Newman High School, Ursuline High School, and Saint John the Baptist Catholic School. His credentials include a USSF E License, NSCAA Regional Diploma, ACE Fitness Certified Personal Trainer, Spartan SGX Training Certification (in process), Optimize Life Coach Certification, Mental Performance Mastery Certification, and experience as an Ironman triathlete, and he is fluent in Spanish.
