• Ages: 0–2 years old

The Nest describes its mission as offering classes and gatherings that are designed to help parents feel supported, connected, and confident through a baby’s first two years, and to encourage each family to find the parenting approach that feels right for them. The program states that it does not promote a single “right” way to do motherhood, but focuses on what works best for each family.

The Nest describes itself as rooted in signature Mommy & Me classes and expanding into prenatal workshops, toddler classes, parent & me, and music and play. It offers boutique classes that are described as supporting families through a baby’s first two years with expert guidance, discussions, guest experts, and community in a small, warm setting. Toddler Playtime sessions follow a theme and include sensory play, music, crafts, and hands-on activities for toddlers. Sensory, Story & Song is described as a class for babies 3–10 months that includes music, movement, sensory play, stories, bubbles, scarves, parachutes, and other interactive activities that are described as easy to recreate at home, and all caregivers are welcome in this class.

Every class is led by experienced educators and child development professionals who are also parents. The staff team brings experience in education, lactation, postpartum care, child development, mental health, and early childhood. The leadership team includes: Jenn Langsdale (Owner), Denise Curtis (Class Facilitator), Emma Bennett (Class Facilitator), Mallory Navarro (Class Facilitator), Sarah Lackie (Toddler Class Specialist & Class Facilitator), and Skye Rollins (Class Facilitator). Jenn Langsdale is a certified lactation educator, has taught in preschool through 5th grade classrooms, holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development, a master’s degree in Education, and a National Board Certification in Early Childhood Education. Denise Curtis is a Doula, New Parent Educator, and Lactation Educator. Emma Bennett is a perinatal mental health specialist and a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has worked with parents and families since 2010. Mallory Navarro has a professional background in elementary education, taught first grade for five years and sixth grade for four years, and holds an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Master’s in Administration. The Nest notes that Jenn Langsdale holds a National Board Certification in Early Childhood Education and that Emma Bennett holds an LCSW credential.

The Nest states that families across the South Bay have gathered there for more than 16 years, and that owner Jenn Langsdale has owned and operated the Nest for 10 years. The Nest describes itself as a welcoming community where friendships often extend beyond the classroom into coffee dates, beach walks, birthday parties, and text threads.
