About
Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts offers music lessons and performing arts classes that include piano, voice and singing, guitar, violin, ukulele, drums, cello, clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, viola, banjo, bass, and mandolin. Students can also take early childhood music classes, musical theatre classes, performing arts classes, songwriting and music composition lessons, music theory lessons, and recording technology. Since 2004, Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts has provided kids and adults in Los Angeles with music lessons and performing arts classes, and over 5,000 students have attended lessons and classes there. The Academy offers K–12 school programs, corporate and wellness offerings, and a risk-free trial lesson. It also offers optional preparation for MTAC Certificate of Merit, MTNA, ABRSM, and AP Music Theory exams, with over fifteen years of experience helping students prepare for MTAC CM, MTNA, and ABRSM exams.
Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts reports a 100% pass rate and a mean score of 4.95 on the AP Music Theory Exam, with over 90% of its students receiving a score of 5. Students at the Academy have averaged 98% on the Certificate of Merit Theory portion of the exam, and the Academy reports a 100% pass rate on that exam. The Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts is operated by Dr. Regina Gurgenyan, who has more than twenty years of professional industry and teaching experience. Dr. Gurgenyan graduated with honors from the Z. Paliashvili Special Music Gymnasium for Gifted Children in Tbilisi, Georgia (USSR), studied with Georgian pianist Tengiz Amirejibi, and earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Tbilisi State Conservatory. She has presented her country in domestic and international competitions, performed solo recitals and concerts with the Georgian Symphonic Orchestra, taught undergraduate music courses at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, and later taught at the Moscow Central Music Gymnasium. At Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts, Dr. Gurgenyan teaches piano, music theory, and advanced performance, and heads the Music Teachers’ Association of California Certificate of Merit Examination Committee. Her private instructional studios in Glendale and Fountain Valley were named “Best Music Studios” by the City of Glendale Business Hall of Fame in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts is a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and it is a Steinway Educational Partner.
