Baller4Life Elite Sports Training was formed in 2008 and is described as the longest-running and accredited AAU youth basketball camp in Orange County, established in 2009. The staff includes coaches from top high school programs in Southern California, former college players, and speed, strength, and agility specialists. The leadership team includes Larry Anaya (SoCal Program Director/Coach), Erik Harden (Player Development Coach), Matt Morris (Player Development Coach), Allan Purnell (Las Vegas Program Director/Coach), Mike Austin (Training Group Director), Joseph Khalil (Player Development Coach), and Aaron Phan (Player Development Coach), with Coach Allan as the Las Vegas contact for private and small group workouts. Baller4Life Sports Training states that it is dedicated to helping players develop basketball fundamentals and improve skills, with a focus on drills that address specific weaknesses and build on strengths, and that players are challenged physically and mentally in ways that are described as preparation for success on and off the court.
The program is award-winning and accredited by the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union), runs AAU-certified club basketball teams, and is described as California’s #1 elite youth basketball program. It is also described as Orange County's highest-rated and longest-running youth basketball league and the longest-running accredited AAU youth basketball camp in Orange County. Baller4Life is described as an elite youth basketball premier program and a coed club basketball program, and is now part of the Open Gym Premier family. The program offers a no-obligation free practice, and its teams consistently participate in local, state, and national tournaments. It is described as having a 100% track record in preparing kids for success in varsity high school basketball and beyond, with all Baller4Life Elite players making the cut every time. It is also described as the only program that has a CIF regulation full-court gym for training and competition.
Baller4Life notes its connection to the legacy of Coach Jim Harris, who won 19 league championships in 33 years as a head coach, earned 3 CIF Southern Section titles, and is in the CIF Basketball Hall of Fame. Parent and player testimonials describe the coaching as professional, challenging, and focused on fundamentals, and mention experiences ranging from early elementary years through high school and college, including references to players who went on to receive Division 1 scholarships. Multiple testimonials refer to long-term involvement with the program, appreciation for the coaching staff, and positive experiences with training, team chemistry, and player development.
