CLASS Academics

CLASS Academics offers 1:1 academic support and interventions, reading support and intervention, core subject support, and executive functioning support. Core subject support includes math, writing, homework help, penmanship, and world languages for students in preK through 12th grade and beyond. Executive functioning support includes organization, time management, planning, study skills, and self-monitoring strategies.

About the provider

CLASS Academics was established in 2012, and Colleen founded the program in July 2012. The leadership team includes Colleen Markowitz, M. Ed, Founder & Reading Specialist; Carina Assayed, M.A., Director & Co-owner; Ms. Amanda, Office Manager (in training); Ms. Bentley, M.A., Credentialed Primary Teacher; Ms. Grace, Credentialed Secondary ELA Instructor; Ms. Heather Silva, Credentialed Primary Teacher (virtual only); and Ms. Arlene Valencia, M. Ed, Credentialed Special Education Instructor (virtual only). The program says it tailors each lesson to the student using evidence-based instruction and innovative methods. Staff are credentialed teachers or are working toward a teaching credential or are in a related field such as Educational Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, or Occupational Therapy, and staff members are fingerprinted through the Department of Justice and trained and certified in CPR.
