Huntington Beach School of Music is led by Cuong Nguyen, Owner, Piano. Its mission is stated as dedicated to providing the best music education to Huntington Beach and its surrounding areas. The school notes that it was featured on CBS TV on the show "This is LA" on Saturday, August 17th, 2019. Families pay a one-time registration fee that is not charged again as long as the student remains enrolled, and tuition is paid monthly with the option to withdraw at any time with 14 days’ notice. Students may switch teachers if they want to try a different teaching style or a different instrument. The program offers opportunities to join a professionally coached orchestra at no extra cost, at least six concerts per year at HBSM's recital hall or online at no extra cost, musical evenings only for adult students at no extra cost, and two annual recitals at a big theater. The school provides wide-open access to lesson rooms and The Recital Hall for practicing and performance needs, and it uses a flexible approach to lesson make-ups with reasonable rescheduling of private lessons with a teacher or a substitute. When more than one family member enrolls in private music lessons, a 10% discount is applied to the lowest priced tuition fee, and this discount is applied to each additional sibling that registers. An upcoming August Recital is scheduled for August 15th, 2026. Contact is by appointment only, and families are asked to call or email ahead to schedule a time to meet.
