About

Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios offers martial arts training and self-defense training that includes karate and Ultimate Kempo. Ultimate Kempo at this program is described as a dynamic blend of KARATE, KUNG FU, and JIU JITSU. Classes take place in a dojo setting that follows a specific Code of Conduct for behavior and safety, including rules about uniforms, equipment, and personal items.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

Each Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios instructor is hand-picked and trained by the Board of Masters through ZUUMAP – Z-Ultimate University of Martial Arts Professionals – where they receive rigorous training in the Classical, Tactical, and Practical aspects of the Ultimate Kenpo System, and they continue weekly training under the Board of Masters. The program’s mission is to inspire men, women, and children to realize their personal best through the timeless traditions of the martial arts in an environment built upon respect, health, and happiness. The program uses the Dynamic Mastery Method of instruction and follows a philosophy of leadership that teaches, “Be a product of what you represent,” and every staff and support member is a martial artist who trains actively. Karate at this program is described as the #1 personal development program in the world for children, and the program offers self-defense programs for kids and teens, along with access to an Online Learning Center and Online Video Training Library exclusively for Z-Ultimate students.

The dojo requires students to remove street shoes before entering, prohibits food, gum, and drink in the training area, and does not allow jewelry during class or practice. All cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off or silenced, and full uniforms that are clean and odorless and display the Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios logo are required for all classes and testing. Black uniforms may be worn starting at the rank of Purple Belt, and black and white uniforms may not be mixed by students, as this combination is reserved for instructors. Full safety equipment is required for all students while sparring, including headgear, gloves, forearm and shin pads, foot protection, and a mouthpiece, and groin protectors are required for all male students.

Testimonials from participants and parents describe experiences such as long-term training with instructors, enjoyment of self-defense instruction, well-organized classes geared to student abilities, and positive interactions with other students as they progress through belt ranks. Other testimonials mention great structure and excellent teachers, children enjoying learning and practicing karate, and students of different ages, including older adults, studying with specific instructors over many years. Additional comments note a friendly and helpful environment, clean facilities, informative instructors who answer questions, and instructors who adapt their teaching for students with different physical needs, with some families stating that their children look forward to karate each week.
