APLUS America Online Math & English Tutoring provides personalized online Math & English support for K-12 students, with weekly lessons tailored to each child based on a skills assessment. Each student receives a weekly personalized lesson plan that updates every Monday, and the program includes interactive teaching, testing, and revision programs that cater to all learning styles and abilities. The online learning can be done after school, on weekends, between activities, and anywhere with an internet connection, and is described as “just like having a tutor 24 hours a day.”

Students receive instant feedback and rewards for every lesson, and can earn points and redeem them for real rewards such as iTunes vouchers. The program includes student assessment to identify knowledge gaps and the creation of targeted lesson plans, interactive lesson plans supported by a tutor team, and tutor support if a child is stuck or if parents want to discuss progress. Access to qualified tutors is available for up to 10 hours every week at no extra charge, using screen sharing and interactive whiteboards, and families can also speak to tutors by phone to discuss progress. The Math tutoring program includes over 35,000 questions, 200+ tests, 1,500+ lessons, and 65+ games, and there are no contracts and no hidden fees.

APLUS America Online Math & English Tutoring states that learning is like building a brick wall, and that with strong foundations and the right support, every child can learn how to do Math and English. The program has been helping children for over 30 years and is based on over 25 years of research and development. It is used in schools worldwide, has been accessed by over 500,000 students globally, and school case studies have shown significant improvements in just 6 weeks. The program supports what children are learning in school and the Common Core State Standards, and APLUS America is fully aligned to US Common Core Standards and CAASPP statewide assessments.

The staff and contributors named in connection with the program include Clinical and Counselling Psychologist Dr Janet Hall (B.A. (Hons), Dip. Ed (Psych), M.Ed., Ph. D.), Leading Authority on the Psychology of Learning Dr Peter Shephard (Ph. D, D.Lit.), School Principal George Moran, and law student Sherry Wang. Dr Janet Hall describes the program as unique, individualized, and special, and states that it works for children whose readiness to learn has not been available to them in school. Dr Peter Shephard notes that the computer asks questions without judging, allows students to go back and learn progressively if they get something wrong, and describes it as a safe, fun, and interactive way of learning. George Moran states that concepts that normally take up to 2 weeks in the classroom to teach can be learned in 20 minutes when using Math Wiz. Sherry Wang describes the software as a great help and recommends it to anyone who wants to go to university, stating that it gives an advantage and information.

Parent testimonials include a review from Libby Spanovich, who reports noticeable improvement in her son’s reading after about 2 months, describes APLUS as fun and interactive and “designed to have the kids do the reading as if it were a game,” and notes that children can earn real prizes by doing well and collecting points. She also describes regular check-ins with tutors, the ability to contact tutors any time in between, and the flexibility to complete weekly assignments at any time. Another parent, Elizabeth Adebayo, reports that her son was struggling with Math and English, that she enrolled him in the program, and that in two months he made significant improvements; she describes APLUS America as having made a much needed difference in her son’s academic life and highly recommends the program.
